Do you have a trip coming up and are unsure of how you can stick to your weight loss plan? Whether your trip requires some drive time or a plane ride, read the following tips on some travel-friendly ideas that will make it easy to stay on track with your 30/10 program while you are on the go! 


Before You Go 

Plan ahead

It’s a great idea to plan out what items you’ll need on your trip and what sticking to plan would look like while you’re away. Notify your coach at your next session with information like when you are leaving town, what amenities you’ll have available (gym, kitchen, nearby restaurants), and any obstacles you foresee that might make it challenging for you to stick to plan. Your coach is there for you as a resource to provide support and ideas to make traveling and being on the 30/10 program easy and convenient!

Plan out your meals before your trip!

Ask your coach for restaurant recommendations and menus

We have great recommendations for how to eat out and stick to plan! Ask us for menu suggestions for restaurants like steak houses, seafood restaurants, fast-food chains and more!

Choose travel-friendly 30/10 items for your food order

30/10 bars, cereals, crisps, and soups are great options that don’t take up a lot of space in your luggage!

Plan out your activity

Sightseeing, swimming, and hiking all count as exercise on vacation! Or if you have access to a gym at your hotel it would be easy to fit 20 minutes of walking on the treadmill into your day! If there is no gym available, perhaps you can plan for a time where you can walk for 30 mins outside before you start your day. 

Check if your hotel has a microwave or kitchen

Most of your 30/10 items are either ready-to-eat or just require hot or cold water to make! If you have access to a kitchen you can easily cook your dinners while you travel, or you can pop your Lifestyle Complete dinners into the microwave!


Road Trips

Pack a cooler

This is a great way to store ice cold water, veggies or even your pre-made 30/10 dinners!

Travel-sized containers

There are plenty of travel-sized containers to hold your salad dressings, veggies, and 30/10 items!

Don’t forget your supplements!

Order more multivitamins, EFAs or minerals if you notice that you’re running low. That way you won’t run out while you’re traveling!

Always bring plenty of water

Make sure on the car ride you have plenty of water to make your smoothies or fruit drinks and also so you can get your daily goal of 64oz of water in!

Pack a bottle of olive oil or avocado oil

It’s super easy to throw in a bottle of olive or avocado oil into your bag. Having a bottle handy ensures that you can get your healthy unsaturated fats in while meeting your daily oil requirement!

Bring travel friendly veggies

Carrots, celery, bell pepper slices, and cucumber slices are all veggies that take minimal prep time and can be eaten on the road without you having to worry about making a mess!

Find a way to get some steps in

Whenever you stop for a bathroom break on a road trip, take a couple of extra minutes to do some laps to get some steps in. You’ll be able to stretch your legs and even though it may not seem like a lot, taking 200 steps here and there throughout the trip can really add up!


Plane Rides

Pack snacks for the plane

Bring some 30/10 cereal to munch on during your flight or put one of our protein bars in your carry-on!

Checkout the restaurants in the airport

Whether you have some time to kill before your flight or there is an extra-long layover, try to plan ahead and check out the menus for airport restaurants. There might be some options for you to eat for dinner or for your lunchtime salad!

Stay Active

If you have a layover, walk around the airport until it’s time to board. We’ve had many clients who were able to squeeze in activity and walk a couple of miles in between flights!

While You’re There

Cook when you can

Whenever you can try to cook your dinner meal. Perhaps you can offer to cook for your hosts if you’re staying with family and friends. There is nothing better than making memories in the kitchen while cooking a recipe that might turn out to be everyone’s new favorite meal!

Stay Active

There are plenty of ways your vacation can be an active one! Take the stairs, take a walk before you start your day, or walk around the city instead of using public transportation. Taking a bike tour around the city or down the beach is just one example. Just remember to get your steps in and make time for activity and you’ll be surprised by how much it can affect your weight loss in a positive way!

Drink plenty of water!

Staying hydrated will help curb cravings and can help you stay on track!
