It truly is the most accurate scale you can step on and is 99.9% as accurate as a DEXA scan at determining your body composition. Just for reference, you’d have to go underwater (hydrostatic weighing method), or go through radiation (DEXA scan), to get a more accurate picture of your body composition, and neither of those options are convenient. While other scales use empirical data (height, weight, age) and the law of averages to guess at your current body composition, our scale gives us your info, not the average of other people in the same age and weight group as you. At 30/10, we feel it’s important to honor your individuality and that’s why we chose a scale that helps us build a customized program to help you achieve your unique goals & reach your ideal body composition!

When you come in for a consultation and step on our scale, we will be able to tell you how many calories you burn in a day! Now, how is that possible? Our scale can tell us precisely how many pounds of muscle you have and that, combined with your activity level, determines your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). Once we have calculated your TDEE and have got to know you a little better, we can get a clear picture of your unique caloric needs to progress your weight loss. We then provide your body with the nutrients it requires to slim down while making sure you are full throughout the day. Plus, on our maintenance program, by using your TDEE we can build a customized eating plan tailored to your metabolism so you can maintain your weight loss! We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all eating plan, you’re a unique person with unique needs, and your weight loss program should reflect you! In addition to gaining an insight into your metabolism, this is what you’ll learn when you come to 30/10 for a consultation;
- How many pounds of muscle you have and where it’s distributed
- How many pounds of body fat you have and where it’s distributed
- Your hydration level and whether you’re retaining water
- Your body fat percentage
- Your visceral fat level
- Whether you need to gain muscle and/or lose body fat
- How many calories you burn in a day (BMR)
As part of your program, you’ll get a full-body composition analysis from our medical grade scale each and every week because we want to make sure you’re seeing progress every time you come in for your appointment! Our goal is to target fat loss while preserving muscle mass because the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn! In your one-on-one sessions, your coach will be able to interpret your results and tell you exactly how many pounds of fat you lost, how much muscle you maintained/gained, and how hydrated you are. If you’re a maintenance client, we’ll be able to keep an eye on your progress and make sure that you’re maintaining your weight!
