Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers

Another Delicious 30/10 Recipe

RECIPE SUMMARY

Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers

Makes 2 servings: Each serving counts towards 1 serving of protein

INGREDIENTS

 2 personal servings Shrimp
1 teaspoon Sambal Chili Paste (optional)
 ¼ cup Tamari
1 tablespoon Walden Farms Pancake Syrup
 2 teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
 ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
 ¼ teaspoon onion powder
 1 teaspoon ginger, fresh minced
Skewers
 Soaked in water if wooden

DIRECTIONS

1

Heat a grill or grill pan to medium high heat. Deshell and devein the shrimp if needed.

2

Heat a small skillet or pot over medium high heat and combine all the ingredients except the shrimp together. Bring the liquid to a simmer and reduce by half, about 2-3 minutes. Check the sauces’ consistency by coating the back of a spoon, the sauce should bead but not drip.

3

While the liquid is simmering, thread the shrimp onto the skewers by forming it into a “C” shape and pushing the skewer through. Place the shrimp skewers aside until all the shrimp have been used.

4

Place the skewers on the grill, and cook for 1 minute on each side or until each shrimp is light pink and cooked through, about 1 minute per side.

5

Baste the shrimp with the reduced sauce and serve.

6

*Soak wooden skewers for at least 30 minutes.
