Sesame Ginger Green Beans

Sesame Ginger Green Beans

Makes 4 Servings: Counts towards 1 cup Vegetables, ½ tablespoon Oil

 

INGREDIENTS

 4 cups Fresh green Beans
 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
 1 Shallot, finely chopped
 1 Clove of Garlic, minced
 2 tablespoons Walden Farms Sesame Ginger Dressing
 ¼ teaspoon Ground Ginger
 ¼ teaspoon Sea Salt

 

DIRECTIONS

Trim the end of all the green beans and heat a large pot of water over high heat until it comes to a boil.

Set a bowl aside of ice water to use after the green beans have cooked.

Add green beans to boiling water and blanch for about 45 sec. until bright green.

Immediately add the green beans to the ice water once they have cooked for about 45 sec. in order to stop the cooking process.

In a large pan, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped shallots and minced garlic to the pan and cook until fragrant, about 1 min.

Add the blanched green beans to the pan and continue to cook for another 3-4 min.

Lastly, pour in the sesame ginger dressing and sprinkle with ginger and salt.

Stir to incorporate and serve!
