Prime Rib Roast

Another Delicious 30/10 Recipe

RECIPE SUMMARY

INGREDIENTS

 

 4lb Prime Rib or Standing Rib Roast, fully thawed
 2 teaspoons Sea Salt
 1 teaspoon Black Pepper, ground

 

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 200ºF.

Season the prime rib with sea salt and black pepper then set it on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.

Place the roast in the oven for 3-4½ hours or until the internal temperature reaches the desired doneness (120ºF for Rare, 130ºF for medium-rare or 140ºF for medium).

Remove the roast from the oven and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil, and set in a warm space in the kitchen for 30 minutes.

Increase the temperature to the hottest it will go, around 500ºF.

Unwrap the roast and place it back on the roasting pan and back in the 500ºF oven for 6 to 10 minutes or until the desired crispy crust is achieved.

Carve and serve the roast immediately.
