Apple Spiced Chicken

Apple Spiced Chicken

INGREDIENTS

 1 Personal Serving boneless skinless Chicken Breast
 1 tablespoons Olive Oil
 ½ teaspoon Granulated Onion
 ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg
 ¼ teaspoon Cloves
 Sea Salt, to taste
 Black Pepper, to taste
 2 tablespoon Walden Farms Apple Butter
 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger, Sliced
 1 clove Garlic, minced
 1 small Rosemary Sprig
 1 Star-Anise seed
 1-2 teaspoon of water (Optional)
 Red Pepper Flakes to taste (Optional)

 

DIRECTIONS

In a small bowl, mix together all the spices.

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium high heat.

Reduce the heat to medium low once heated and rub the chicken with the spice mixture. Add the chicken to the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until the edges turn white, indicating it is ready to flip. Once done, remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

In the same skillet add in the apple butter, ginger, garlic, water (if needed) and stir. Add rosemary and star anise and low simmer for 1 minute then remove; drizzle sauce over chicken.
